The extent to which these relationships generalize to behavioral safety in occupational settings has not been systematically studied, but this certainly appears to represent a key research question in the area of behavioral safety given the widespread use of prompts in safety interventions. Another question concerns the novelty of prompts in the environment, and whether safety prompts will lose their effectiveness over time and thus need to be replaced (Geller, 1997). Several additional research topics regarding the use of prompts appear elsewhere (Geller, 1997).
