Integrating the individual processes and managing
the integrated process may lead to a reduction
in the extra stocks and capacities and to
smooth inter-organizational demands, resulting in
a better overall performance of the total logistic
chain (Evans et al., 1993; Lee and Billington,
1992; Shapiro et al., 1993; Stevens, 1989). This
improvement will only be significant if the individual
processes are re-engineered in accordance
with the adjustment of these processes to each
other. This integrated logistic management concept
can provide competitive advantages to each
partner involved, providing a win-win solution.
