In summary, there was great variation in the chemical composition in rice bran due to different varieties, origin and milling methods. The DE and ME content among 17 rice bran samples ranged widely and were highly correlated with AEE. Therefore, the variation in chemical composition in rice bran has to be considered when estimating its energy value and formulating the diet. The DE and ME content of rice bran can be predicted accurately using prediction equations based on the chemical composition in rice bran.
