Fiona, an Asian American who has over 25 years experience in corporate (ที่เกี่ยวกับบริษัท Adj) America decided (เห็นชัด) to obtain (ได้รับ)a college degree. Fiona has taken classes part-time and has had a wonderful experience. The course was challenging, the professors supportive and the classmates have provided a wealth of knowledge. In a recent class, Fiona was teamed up with four other students (all white American) on a group project. They did well as a group, but individually Fiona received a B on the project (and her teammates received As or A+s). She didn’t begrudge them their grades as they worked hard and were smart people. The feedback on her paper was dead on, too. She was disappointed to have her writing critiqued, but every point was accurate and she appreciated the care the professor gave in editing her paper. At the end, he said that her conclusions lacked depth and recommended that she consult with her teammates as they had done a great job. She took his advice and she was shocked by what she found out. The paper was a combination of team and individual effort. The individual effort was only 2-3 pages at the end of a 15-page paper. Their individual sections were similar in content and format to hers, but more importantly, their group sections had not been edited in the same manner as hers (and the group section was exactly the same). Rather, they all received comments about what great writers they were.
