Infants with BPD are at
increased risk of calcium and phosphorus deficiency
due to their low enteral intakes associated with
fluid restriction and the common need for diuretic
therapy [14, 41]. The Nutrition Committee of the
ESPGHAN recommends an intake of 120-140 mg/
kg/day of highly bioavailable calcium salts and
60-90 mg/kg/day of phosphate [19].
