palm fatty acid distillates + CO2 over a wide range of temperatures
and pressures. Representing the gas capacity factor FV = f( ) as a
function of the flow parameter has a practical advantage, as the
flow parameter includes the ratio of the liquid to the gas mass
flow rates L/S. This term can be written as 1/(S/L), which is the
inverse of the solvent-to-liquid ratio. The solvent-to-liquid ratio
is a fundamental process variable in multistage gas extraction and
is a direct measure of the amount of solvent necessary to achieve a
desired separation task.
