heart is developed and circulation can also be
observed. It is possible to count the heartbeat and
consequently determine the heart rate. The embryo
undergoes a fast development and the larvae hatches
in 96 hours at 260C (Laale, 1977). It is considered to be
a replacement species for higher vertebrates for the
study of toxicology. In this study, we want to
investigate the toxic effect of crude extract of P.
minima Linn. on D. rerio embryo to expand future
application of medicinal plants in humans and
animals.
