Dietary fibre plays an important role in human health. High fibre diets have shown beneficial effects on human nutrition due to its potential to control weight increase (Ramos et al., 2008), serum lipids (Beer, Arrigoni, & Amado, 1995) and glycemic index (Moharib and El-Batran, 2008 and Sindurani and Rajamohan, 2000).
