The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld a lower court's ruling, sentencing four people including an ex-election official to prison for tampering with the Election Commission's database in connection withthe Election Commission's database in connection with the April 2006 polls. Amornwit Suwannapol, a former database official at the EC, was given a three year and four month jail term for accepting a bribe of 30,000 baht to change details kept on the Pattana Chart Thai Party tochange details kept on the Pattana Chart Thai Party to allow it to field candidates in the South in the 2006 elections. Three others -- former Pattana Chart Thai member Chavakan Toswasdi, campaign director Suksan Chaithes, and party leader Boonthaweesak Amornsin -- were sentenced to two years in jail for being accessories to the crime
