A profile definition is presented as a specific metamodel that appears as a class diagram presenting concepts from UML (showing the “uml.” name prefix) and extensions from EAP (in a profile, exten- sions are called “stereotypes”). The (BLACK ARROW) link represents an “extension,” meaning that the “Component” concept from UML has been extended in the “Application Component” concept from EAP. It provides the mapping (the “Application Component” EAP/TOGAF concept maps to the “Com- ponent” UML concept) (Figure 15.2).
