Digital Justice for Us (DJ4Us) was a 2009 youth program of Media Literacy Project developed to address media justice issues in New Mexico by creating media for community power and policy change.
DJ4Us was initiated in response to the widening divide New Mexicans face in terms of access to broadband (high speed internet). Five Albuquerque youth from Albuquerque Partnership, Young Women United, Media Arts Collaborative Charter School, and Native American Community Academy collected video stories from rural youth lacking access to broadband in order to inform the Federal Communications Commission’s National Broadband Plan.
