There are inconsistent data regarding the impact of fibroids on
pregnancy and even less data regarding howfibroids influence obstetric
outcomes in twin pregnancies specifically. In the first study to examine
obstetric outcomes among patients with fibroids and twin pregnancies,
Stout et al. [11] reported no increase in adverse obstetric outcomes, consistent
with the present study. The control-group sample size in this
studywas large,with 2323 patients who did not have fibroids included.
However, there were only 67 patients with fibroids enrolled and the
study was retrospective.
