Dear Chaleekorn Sirisawad,
We will introduce an Academic Course Progress policy for VET students from January 1, 2015. This will replace the current Attendance policy and will reflect our shift of focus to academic results, thus enabling you to be more engaged in your studies with us.
We will upload this new policy in our website in January 2015.
Here is a brief summary of the main points of the new procedure:
· You will receive information via email from the College regarding Academic Progress only if you are not meeting the satisfactory progress standard, which is defined as being deemed not competent (failing) in 50% of units studied to date in your course
· You will always have the chance to catch up on your work and to meet the satisfactory progress standard
· You may appeal any decision by the College
· You should attend class events, class activities and participate in class assessments as necessary
· Strathfield College allows a 50% attendance rate instead of 80%.
