Conclusion
The findings in this study show that RAM-based education given to COPD patients had a positive effect on their physical adaptation, self-concept as physical and personal adaptation and role-function adaptation. However, as to interdependence mode, it did not prove completely effective. We found that perceived support of family did not significantly increase after RAM-based education, although the perceived support from friends significantly increased statistically. Therefore, we concluded that the more intervention for improving interpersonal support, especially as that perceived from family, the more using RAM to educate COPD patients could prove beneficial in increasing their adaptation to the disease. However, more studies on COPD patients using RAM-based education are needed to support
the suggested conclusions of this study.
