The ethical issue of the case is that people can’t blame the movie as effect of general number of pregnant teenagers. It’s unethical to say that it’s the movie that affect the young adults to commit to have their own decision as…pregnancy. It is true that the film has shown the strong, independent side of women, which is needed to follow. However, we have choice to select what to follow and what not to. According to Jason Bateman, actor in the movie, said “Unfortunately, we’ve had these instances where guys kill people because of what they hear in rock n’ roll lyrics or some garbage like that. Look, if you’re going to blame a movie or song for your actions, whether they be good or bad, I think you’re looking at the wrong things to influence your life. I think people should look to other areas of their life for lessons and guidance, mainly parents, or teachers, or friends, or whomever. That should probably be where you should point your eyes and ears.”
The case of Bristol’s pregnancy has been accused as a result from “Juno Effect”. This is unethical to accuse the movie because the movie is just a reflection of society. The choice you have and the decision you make are your own. It has nothing to do with the movie or the media.
