With an ultimate goal of employee collaboration and content creation, contestants are given several constraints so as to establish a standardized degree of fair play within the Shutterstock bash.
The rules are as follows: project submissions must be a creative solution to a problem formatted either as a “hack” (a code-based project) or a “pitch” (a video-based presentation or a mockup); hack teams must have at least four people from four different departments and pitch teams must have three people from three different departments; and finally, the addressed problem must be a relevant innovation toward a contributor, customer or employee benefit.
With these restrictions in mind, Hack to the Future fosters an excellent method for establishing employee connection and rewarding employees for their hard work while simultaneously benefitting the company with the creation of new services.
