Microscope slides are assembled with coverslips to provide simple fluid chambers for experiments. Wear gloves when making slides, to minimize fingerprints and sample contamination. You will create a flow cell by placing two parallel pieces of double-sided tape across the center of a standard microscope slide about 3- 4 mm apart. Place a coverslip over the top of the tape, perpendicular to the microscope slide, and firmly seal the edges (a pen cap or similar plastic object can be used, but avoid pressing too hard and cracking the cover glass)
