The Hundred Caves of Yoshimi shows a wonderful landscape that looks like Cappadocia. The cluster of these wonderful caves in Yoshimi Town has been a mystery for a long time. Recent research revealed that these are ancient grave caves dug on the cliff in the Kofun period. Visitors can freely visit holes along the sidewalk. It would be fun to gaze into some of the holes and think of ancient Japan, which will stir your sense of romanticism. The Archaeological Center is located on the site, which exhibits excavated articles and provides information on the local history in relation to the Hundred Caves. The site includes a lot used as an underground munitions factory constructed during World War II. People can visit this lot as well. Luminous moss, which emits golden beams in the dark, grows in the caves, and visitors can see the mysterious shine.
