(Garciadeblas et al., 2003). The expression of OsHKT2;1 was
repressed in both cultivars in the current study (Fig. 6(B)). This
result is in agreement with the findings of Horie et al. (2007), which
suggest that OsHKT2;1 is down-regulated during salt stress conditions.
Therefore, this indicates that the OsHKT2;1 transporter is
important to the restriction of toxic accumulation of Naþ in both
cultivars.
