Introduction
Among children and adolescents, the prevalence of allergies
to furred pets (AFP) has been estimated to 15–18% (1)
and the corresponding figure for perceived food hypersensitivity
(FHS) has been estimated to 20–35% (2–4), of
which 6–8% can be diagnosed as food allergies (5). In
order to make it possible to investigate the health-related
quality of life (HRQL) in children suffering from AFP and/
or FHS, we designed a disease-specific questionnaire: The
Food-Pet-Allergy in Children (FPAC) Questionnaire. In
this study, we present the psychometric characteristics of
the FPAC questionnaire.
