Established in 1993, General Motors Thailand (GM Thailand) has been operating as GM’s ASEAN hub, producing in the Rayong Province, vehicles for both domestic sales and export under the Chevrolet and Holden nameplates. In 2011, GM Powertrain Thailand was established to manufacture the new family of four-cylinder Duramax turbo-diesel engines for local, regional and international markets.
GM Thailand’s range of vehicles under the Chevrolet nameplate includes the Chevrolet Cruze (compact sedan), Aveo and Sonic (sub-compact sedan), Captiva (compact SUV), Colorado (midsize pickup truck) and Trailblazer (midsize pickup-based SUV), all of which are produced at GM Thailand’s plant and distributed in Thailand by Chevrolet Sales Thailand through more than 92 dealers nationwide.
