Conclusion
The current study highlights the importance of being
known and sheds light on the unique nature of
the dynamics between healthcare providers and their
patients. Although no standardized set of interventions
exits that can be applied to facilitate being known, doing
so does not need to be a complex process. Nurses
can play an integral role in providing care and developing
a culture of care that fosters being known without
changing the fundamental philosophies already at the
heart of nursing care.
