The intention of this Contract Specification is to provide for the basic characteristics and design criteria of a Fire Fighting Harbour tug of the ASDT (azimuth stern drive TUG) type with external fire fighting system.
The general design philosophy, the requirements, the conditions and provisions stated in this Specification, capacities, pressures, pipe dimensions, etc. shall be adequate for the relevant services, also if not specified, by the present Specification.
The tug to be designed for two man operation.
Accommodation with 2 cabins with private toilet and shower facilities and 3 cabins with shared facilities.
This specification gives the description of the vessel. It is the responsibility of the Builder to do detailed engineering. The Builder is free to propose changes to the basic design where other systems or solutions in his opinion would be better, after mutual agreement with the Owner. Any deviation from the above, due to local availability and/or standards, is allowed only when the deviation is minor or only after written approval by the Owner.
The hull to be of all and fully welded construction with watertight bulkheads. The vessel to be fitted with twin azimuth type propellers.
The Builder is to furnish all items of labour, machinery equipment and materials required for the construction of the vessel as outlined in this specification.
Those items which are specifically listed as Owner furnished equipment, and other deliveries from Owner will also be installed by the Builder in accordance with merchant marine practice at the Builder’s expense.
It is agreed that any item of equipment, machinery, outfit, etc. not mentioned in this Specification, but required for proper function of the specified ship type or by the relevant rules in force at contract date, by the The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), Lloyd’s Register of Shipping (Lloyd’s), IMO and SOLAS, is to be supplied and installed by the Builder at Builder’s cost. Vessel to comply with all present relevant legislative regulation requirements in force at the date of contract.
In addition to the above, the construction of the vessel shall be guided by Owner’s New Building Manual.
If any inconsistency or contradiction is found between this specification and plans, the former shall prevail and govern.
If any inconsistency or contradiction is found between the Contract and this specification, the former shall prevail and govern.
If any inconsistency is found between the hull, machinery and electric specifications, the description of the specification which governs the installation or equipment will prevail.
