On the other hand, the use of fine particles as an additive will promote the mobility of the liquid during sintering, thus more areas of the sample will be affected. Densities obtained using nano-particle additives show significant improvement compared to additives in micron size. Nano-particles are popularly known to have larger surface areas compared to micron particles. Thus, samples of ZTA with the addition of MgO nano particles show a noteworthy improvement compared to ZTA with the addition of MgO micron particle size. With respect to composition, each series of MgO particle size has a specific composition needed to achieve the optimum density value. For samples with 500 nm and 7000 nm MgO as additives, more than 0.7 wt.% of MgO will produce continuously decreased values which are not significant for discussion. With respect to composition, a study conducted by Azhar et al. and Rittidech et al. also showed similar trends.
