4.1. 3D modeling
To allow precise analysis of the sound field in the suction housing, reverse engineering of a housing was conducted. Reverse engineering is a kind of engineering which takes advantage of an already created object. The final purpose is to create another object similar to the existing object. Getting this is essential to get information about the physical object [20,21]. Table 1 shows the process of full 3D model using reverse engineering. In process of
parts and scanning, the product was selected for modeling and a 3D laser scanner was used to collect a large amount of point data representing the geometry of the suction housing and the impeller. In process of scan data, the point datas obtained by this process
was converted into linear data. In process of parts modeling, surface data generated by linear data was used to build a CAD model of the housing. Finally in process of A’ssy modeling, when the module modeling work was complete, the 3D model was completed by assembly work in the same form as suction housing.
