The study of emotions has received a growing attention
in several research fields. In particular, in the context of
Cognitive infocommunications (CogInfoCom), understanding
emotions, that is, decoding human emotions and affective
states and defining a model that encodes them is considered
a key factor for the development of socially adaptive and
interactive infocommunications devices that
can be exploited in many application areas, from e-teaching
and e-learning to remote health care and assistive technologies,
and robotics.
