Introduction
International studies show that nurses are increasingly
dissatisfied with the hospital working environment
(Aiken 2002, Siebens et al. 2006). Several factors negatively
affect the working environment: insufficient
support from management, inadequate information
flow from nursing management to nursing staff, lack of
teamwork among nurses and physicians, scarce support
services and lack of autonomy (Milisen et al. 2006,
Siebens et al. 2006).
