Emergency Management
1. Remove the poison from the patient’s stomach immediately by inducing vomiting. Do not induce vomiting if the person has consumed a strong acid, alkali or other corrosive or hydrocarbon solvent. Do not induce vomiting if patient is in a coma, is unconscious or is having convulsions.
a. Give three to four glasses of milk or water to dilute the poison.
b. Induce vomiting by giving syrup of ipecac or inserting the index finger or blunt end of a spoon at the back of the patient’s throat.
