To the best of our knowledge, there are no reports on the antioxidant
capacities of coriander fruits cultivated in Tunisia, Syria
and Egypt. In this work, we evaluated for the first time the total
polyphenols, flavonoids and condensed tannin contents and
the antioxidant potential of the methanolic extracts of coriander
fruit by DPPH, reducing power and b-carotene/linoleic
acid assays. The results could provide information about the
potential utility of C. sativum L. as a raw material source for
industrial utilization of phenolic components.
