Every time something like this comes out with a leader, detractors say, "There is Michael again playing golf with the powerful!" This totally disregards the fact that historically I am as apt to oppose those in power (Obama, Thaksin, Yingluck, McChrystal, Menard), or to go neutral.
Only occasionally do I openly support someone like Abhisit or Petraeus.
As for PM Prayuth, we never have met and I have not reached out to his office.
Prayuth brought peace to Thailand when it was slipping into possible civil war, and Prayuth actually has made many improvements despite what critics say. He can be a little rough around the edges as Soldiers often are, but he gets the job done and ended the violence without using violence.
If this were Iraq there would be bodies on the streets every morning, smoldering cities, and Thai refugees in all the neighboring countries. Thankfully this is the Kingdom of Thailand and war was avoided.
