The Toyota plant tour came after vising TOYOTA kai-kan museum. The tour started from Toyota
kai-kan museum with some brief introduction about Toyota facilities and business report in the
recent years. The tour was designed to visit only Takaoka factory in specific. The factory now
mainly manufacturing several models of sedan types such as iQ, Corolla, and Auris. Visitors first
entered the factory at the incoming part division. The most priority of this division is to control
incoming part flow at highest efficiency so that the least stock the better. Automobile part
incoming management is developed and controlled using Kan-ban system in which every part
box has an individual kan-ban. A kan-ban is basically a small panel of information such as name,
part number, number of parts… of the part storing in the box. When the part is supplied, its kanban
is collected and total of part, which is used, could be controlled.
