A: You didn’t have to treat me!
C: I didn’t have to, but I wanted to. I owe you much more than a coffee, Aurora.
A: But I haven’t done anything!
C: What do you mean? Your words of encouragement during the sessions, your company in the toughest moments of the therapy…
A: I was just doing my duty.
C: It could have been that, but no. You’ve made me feel a little less alone in this world.
A: I know what you mean. But I saw how helpless you were, and I really felt like keeping you company.
C: You did much more than that. I’d already resigned myself to be a weirdo, a sick person with no cure.
A: Celia, we are not weirdos nor are we sick. We just have different… tastes. And believe me, it took me a long time to realize that there’s a certain charm in the difference.
C: Thanks to you I’ve managed to get out of the pit where I was buried. And I finally feel like I’m getting my strength back.
A: I’m very happy for you.
C: See how I owe you a lot? Much more than a coffee!
A: You sure like to exaggerate! You’ve already treated me to rosquillas, I feel more than compensated.
C: Well, you’ve sure turned out to be cheap! [laughs]
A: I know we’re not going to see each other that often, but… I wanted to tell you that you can count on me for anything. I already consider you a friend.
C: And I consider you one, too.
