Proteins whose levels of abundance changed significantly wereanalyzed using the gene ontology classifications provided bythe Rice Genome Annotation Project (http://rice.plantbiology.msu.edu/) (GOSlim Assignments) and assigned to a hierarchical cellu-lar component, molecular function and biological process usingthe Web Gene Ontology Annotation Plotting tool (WEGO, http://wego.genomics.org.cn) (Ye et al., 2006). GOSlim information wasavailable for 80 and 76% of the differentially regulated proteinsidentified in the phloem samples from the susceptible and resistantrice varieties, respectively.
