You felt a pair of eyes glance up at you in question as you moved to slowly descend the stair case, non-too surprised in the fact that it was Steven's blue orbs once again.
"Well, my job's done here. Enjoy your letter, 'Steven'." Your Cacnea was thrilled at the thought of finally going home, the young Pokemon jumping into your arms as you moved farther out of the room. Before you could fully rush from the cavern, however, the other person inhabiting it called out to you.
"Wait a moment, please!" Stopping with a deep sigh, you craned your neck to glance back at the silver-haired male. Blinking in question, you found the boy still standing atop his perch at the top of the stairs; looking down at you with sudden interest. Upon seeing your questionable gaze, the male smiled lightly. "Please, at least enlighten me with your name so that I may thank you properly for delivering this letter safely to me." The request seemed odd to you, but your mind was too dull from exhaustion to really care. Offering the best smile you could manage through your fatigue-induced haze, you answered him.
"Me? I'm (y/n), and that's all there really is to say." The male blinked at your odd reply, but you paid him no mind; simply waving over your shoulder as you left the cave without another care in the world. You couldn't wait to see your bed again after everything you've been through today...
Steven was left standing still in your wake, the Steel-type user utterly at a loss from your encounter. Blue eyes focused in on the dark doorway you had vanished through, the male was left at a loss for words.
You were quite the character, was what he had observed from you. Kind enough to deliver a letter as a favor, he saw. Brave enough to journey into the cave around him to complete a simple quest, he noted. Expressive enough to not care about showing your feelings, he observed. Your entrance into the room came by in a blur, you only staying for as long as you had too. However, even in that brief amount of time, he had learned something more about you.
You were very intriguing, to say the least.
As the Champion reflected on his brief encounter with the so-called (y/n), he couldn't help but smile lightly; before turning back to the ancient drawings thoughtlessly. Your odd personality and demeanor had, to say the least, brightened his mood.
That was, at least, until he noted the silence that once again developed around him.
The Steel Champion's smile lowered, a thin frown taking over his features. The feeling from before developed into his chest once more, the burning, aching feeling of emptiness now his only companion in the dark abyss of the cave.
Ah, so that's what this feeling is. It's loneliness.
