I had a friend who was only able to do it for 5 days. He discovered the morning of day 3 that he was no longer wheezing from his asthma in the mornings. Something he has been dealing with for months! He was amazed and felt great. What the fast did to him was make him realize that some of his wheezing symptoms were probably food related so he's slowly working a variety of foods back into a healthier diet. Here we are four weeks later and he's following a mostly vegetarian diet and feeling great. In that sense, for him some fasting had major benefits and is helping him adhere to a more healthy diet.
As to all the scheduling conflicts, I too have hauled my bottles of 'ade around to conferences with free breakfasts, lunches and snacks. I've sipped my water with lemon at lunch and dinner occassions with colleagues and family. It can be done. And by day 5, it's no longer big deal. You're not as hungry and many of the foods just don't appea. I did, however, avoid additional social events that would tempt me and only went to those that were unavoidable due to work. If you get a little creative with your schedule, find the time to do at least the 10 days. We can't fully explain to you the benefits. You have to experience them for yourself!
