Every employee (including professional staff) holds a GS (Government Service) rank; the lowest groundskeeper is a GS 1 (grounds keeping trainee) and the highest administrator (the CEO) is a GS-15. Within each rank are steps are predetermined by seniority and achievement; most ranks have 7 to 10 steps. Performance reviews are conducted annually, at which time steps or promotions in GS ranks occur. Employees are given annual salary adjustments for inflation and cost of living increases. Full state government benefits are provided to all workers.
