In this section, the elasto-plastic dynamic response of
shock on the measured material surface is studied and
the corresponding diagram of the stress–strain state is
presented.
On the standard measurement conditions, a universal
material testing machine was used to apply a continuously
changing force on the measured material surface, and
some experiment data of the amount of compression can
be acquired. A stress which equals to the force divided by
cross sectional area of the measured material was used
as ordinate, and a strain which equals to the amount of
elongation divided by original length of the measured
material is used as abscissa, and then a stress–strain curve
as can be depicted in Fig. 5.
