This selfie stick differs from others I have seen in that the battery is not in the stick, it goes in a separate self-timer (a remote). Instead of a charging cable, the package includes the self-timer and battery, as well as instructions on how to put the battery in the self timer.
The battery is a lithium CR2032. I don't know how long it lasts, but it should last a long time in a selfie stick since they are not in constant use.
It also differs in that the button to press to take photos is not on the stick but the self timer. To prevent the user from going out with stick but forget the self-timer, what EasyLife calls "magic tape" is included. This is essentially a Velcro strip that slides through a loop on the self-timer then wraps around the handle to hold the self timer tight against the handle.
So there is a shutter button on the handle, just not built into the handle like many of the others..
This seems to be a sturdy, well made selfie stick. It feels solid in your hand and where your hand goes is non-slip.
The holder for the phone is permanently attached and holds the phone in place by means of a clamp. Pull up the clamp, put the phone in place and let the clamp down.
The tube is in sections that pull out. You can fully extend the tube or only partially. When you pull out a section, you give it a slight turn to the left to lock it in place, a slight turn to the right to collapse it. When fully collapsed, it is only 9" long.
You can move the clamp forward and backward about 270 degrees, with an easily tightened screw to keep it in the desired position.
Clearly explained instructions are included in the package. One should have no trouble preparing the selfie stick for use.
Also included is a wrist strap that can be attached to the bottom of the selfie stick if desired.
