As we stand today with this problem, there has come bigger problems then just the youth selling themselves, as a great deal of the nation have been diagnosed with STD's such as AIDS and HIV. To this day, AIDS is the main cause of death in Thailand, and it is all because of the high rates of prostitution. If all these STD's are continuously growing until a point where there's nothing we can do about it, then there is a clear reason of why the nation itself should be concerned about prostitution. Adult prostitutes whom typically run the market, get many STD's from foreigners or Thai men themselves. Having said that, this will cause the youth of Thailand to get these harmful diseases as well, and will ultimately increase the rate of deaths per year.
Prostitution in general is bad enough, but with adults, they are old enough to make their owe decisions. It is still not ethical to become a prostitute, but the fact that kids are starting to doing it against their will is sickening. Also, the realization that Thailand's government doesn't care as much as they should makes this situation even more scary. If it has gotten worse and worse for over 7 centuries, then nothing will stop it from killing Thailand for another 700 years. As a result, whatever adults choose to do will effect their children. Now that children are being more like the adults, they effect themselves twice as much. With no stable youth to continue Thailand's population growth/country development it is most likely true that in the near future, Thailand will become a destroyed nation.
