A key part of the leader’s role is to deliver results which contribute to the
achievement of the organisation’s overall goals and objectives, whether those
include:

Business objectives

Organisational standards and values
f
Productivity and profitability objectives and targets.
The leader is responsible for mobilising their team to deliver what is expected
of them, whether this involves achieving sales targets, production volumes or
standards of behaviour, etc.
In the absence of any plans, the leader’s actions may be haphazard and random,
there is a risk that important areas are forgotten or given insufficient attention
and there may be a lack of coordination of people, resources and priorities.
Plans needn’t be complex – a simple list of actions required in date order, with
clear accountabilities can be all that is needed to manage the department’s
activities and contribution towards achieving the organisation’s goals
