After this period, plants were removed from the tubes and washed with running water to measure the following variables: root number, length and dry weight, number of leaves, length and dry weight of shoots.
The mean calculated values for each parameter were statistically compared using standard procedures with the SAS general linear model and least significant difference analysis at 5% probability level.
