reports of Studied bacterium Micrococcus SP MU1 Micrococcus sp. MU1, a Cadmium-resistant PGPR, promoted the plant growth and Cadmium accumulation in the roots and above-ground tissues of Helianthus annuus L. It also increased phytoextraction coefficient and translocation of Cadmium from the roots to the above-ground tissues. Repeated soil inoculation with the Micrococcus sp. MU1 provided continuous enhancement of Cadmium phytoextraction efficiency. Our findings suggested that a combined approach using Micrococcus sp. MU1 and H. annuus L. for Cadmium phytoextraction is an alternative strategy to reclaim Cadmium-polluted areas. (Kunchaya Setkit et al.,2014.)
