This cemetery is maintained by the commonwealth war graves commission and it does its job brilliantly. The grounds and final resting places are immaculately kept, there is an air of quiet dignity and sadness here. Nearly 7,000 allied soldiers are here, many Dutch and Australians, of various faiths. If you wish to pay your particular respects they will help you to locate the individual and put flowers etc, as you wish. It's a thoughtful spot and definitely part of the second world war burma railway experience.
