The consecutive Bachelor's and Master's degree program teaches German and French law, provides an in-depth examination of French law while the Master of International Private Law and EU Law program places a methodological focus on international private law and the current trends in European Union private law.
This course is offered in collaboration with the University of Dijon as an integrated degree program leading to a double degree.
Compatibility with the first degree program examination (state examination program)
The degree program can be taken in parallel to the first state examination in law. Participants thus have the opportunity of qualifying themselves for the standard legal professions (e.g. as a lawyer or in public service) that are otherwise only open in Germany to those who have completed a legal internship and assessor examination. This is possible without any significant extension of the period of study as most of the qualifications obtained in the two degree programs are recognized. This generally applies to the intermediate examination and other qualifications in German law as well as internships. On request, the acquired French degree can be recognized as a major in French law (study of this major and the related exam are not required).
