During the 5-year experiment period, WUE in the warm-temperate
mixed plantation was 1.90 g C kg1 H2O (Fig. 5), lower than
the results reported by Krishnan et al. (2006) for a aspen forest, Yu
et al. (2008) for a temperate broad-leaved Korean pine mixed forest,
Jassal et al. (2009) for a temperate Douglas fir, Rodrigues et al.
(2011) for a Mediterranean Eucalypt plantation and Brümmer et al.
(2012) for a coniferous forest (Table 1). Lower WUE in the mixed
plantation was attributed to the broadleaf dominant stand with
higher evapotranspiration and lower GPP (Table 1).
