Independent of whether translation or a new common internetwork
namespace provides internetworking, end-to-end communication
requires the determination of end-to-end paths across the
interconnected domains, i.e., a routing mechanism. If the new
namespace is flat, as in HIP, routing becomes challenging, because
the routing information of nodes with flat names is inherently
difficult to aggregate. The Ambient Networks project is considering
two alternatives to approach this challenge.
