The simulations indicated that a 50% reduction in the total vehicle flow, or a 50% reduction in heavy vehicle flow, would provide a reduction of about 3 dB(A) in noise levels. This reduction in sound levels is consistent with that reported by other authors, such as Richard35 in the September 2013 issue of the Zeitschrift für Lärmbekämpfung, the official journal of the Acoustical Society of Germany. According to Richard, “The range of reduction of noise levels in response to individual measures is from 1 to 3 dB(A)” [35].
