STAGE 3
With the introduction of new entrances and new facilities, the way in which visitors used the building was going to change. Schedules of information were compiled that listed every possible visitor requirement for key points around the whole of the building. The information listed dictated the type, size, position , and fixing for every individual sign, In the early stages many of the signs were designed then printed out full size and pasted on the walls in situ. Three-dimensional prototypes were also tested in the same way, this time in conjunction with the lighting designers who tested the readability during day and evening light conditions. Some fixing tests were also carried out to accommodate the irregularities of the wall surface. These early prototypes acted as control samples against which the complete sign package was checked for quality during production and installation.
