Sentence order
As you know from Chapter 1, sentence order in English is usually as follows:
Subject verb object
The verb dose the action. The subject tells us who is doing the action. The objest answers the question "What?"
The Object
The Object can be a noun, a pronoun, or a noun phrase.
The Complement Some Verbe are not action verb; they are linking verbs. Some examples are like,be, become, seem, and feel. These verbs may be followed by a noun, a noun phrase, or an adjective. This is called a complement.
