2.4.5. Particle size distribution and zeta potential
The size of the bran particle was determined in a laser diffraction apparatus (Malvern Instruments Ltd., Mastersizer 2000—model APA2000, UK) equipped with a dispersion unit (Hydro 2000S, model AWA2001) to improve sample dispersibility; ethanol was used as solvent. Measurements were performed in triplicate, at 25 °c. In aqueous suspension, the surface charge and the length of the nanofibers were analyzed using a light scattering apparatus (Malvern Instruments Ltd., Zetasizer Nano Series—model Nano zs, UK), at room temperature (25 °C). Six measurements of length and zeta potential were obtained; the results are presented as average values.
